  1. I`ve tried a few different brands of different types of gluten-free pasta, and Barilla definitely tastes the most like "real" pasta. With other brands, it`s entirely edible, but I absolutely need tomato sauce on it, because the pasta itself has a slightly unpleasant taste to it. I used to love eating spaghetti with only salted butter on it, but after I could no longer eat gluten, I really missed the taste of that plain dish. I figured I was just out of luck, but Barilla`s spaghetti tastes so close to the real thing, I can now eat it any way I`d like. The consistency is also perfect, unlike a lot of other gluten-free brands that tend to turn out a little tough/dry out easily. I bought 12 boxes, so I`m set, for a while!

  2. The best GF pasta. I think even Marcella Hazan would have approved.I used to always use Tinkyada. The pasta would often stick and clump no matter what I did while cooking it. Once cooked, it had to be rinsed. Which left me with cold pasta that I had to put back on the eye to hear back up. Still, it was acceptably pasta and allowed me to make Marcella Hazan recipes again.Husband came home a couple of months ago with a box of this Barilla GF pasta. He said he saw it in the grocery store & why not try it.I tried it. Wow. It`s very close to REAL gluten pasta. It doesn`t clump when cooking. It doesn`t have to be rinsed. Great flavor.I order it in cases from amazon.com now.If you have to eat GF and love pasta, run don`t walk to your one-click order button:)

  3. Wow! I freaked out when I tasted one of these as they were cooking to make sure it was done. I scurried through the kitchen as fast as I could to find the empty box and to my relief when I found it in the trash can I let out a sigh of relief when I saw that the box said Gluten Free. They tasted so amazing that it scared me because I thought I accidentally got a box of wheat noodles. WOW! These are by far the best gluten free boxed pasta I have ever had! They are so good you could just eat them plain with no sauce. LOL, I sure did as they were straining in the colander.

  4. Man, is this stuff good. For health reasons, my wife is on the FODMAP diet (avoiding foods with a tendency to ferment), and wheat is a big no-no. We`ve already switched to oat-based pancakes (*delicious*), but pasta was a big issue.We found this stuff at Amazon and took a chance on it (a *big* chance because it`s six boxes!), and man, is it great. It cooks, serves, eats, and tastes virtually identical to standard wheat-based pasta, and in fact it appears to have less tendency to stick together or get soft and squishy in sauces or when reheated.In fact, at this point, even if FODMAP wasn`t an issue we`d probably use this stuff as our primary macaroni. Highly recommended.Also, for anybody out there who is avoiding gluten because of digestive issues but find it doesn`t work 100% of the time, investigate FODMAP as an option. My wife`s digestion has improved 100%, and even her dad has switched to it. It`s not woo-hoo, it`s science, and worth a look.

  5. I cook for celiacs and have tried many brands. I usually make two pots, a normal pasta for me and GF for the others. This is the first pasta that I have found in general distribution that I would eat myself and not bother with the second pot. It is still subject to clumping and needs to be a) cooked with more water than usual and b) stirred frequently, but the extra care is worth it.

  6. oy, i`m not gluten free and am therefore capable of tasting what "real," highly glutenized pasta tastes like on a regular basis. the same cannot be said for my partner who seems to have forgotten what pasta actually tastes like. we`ve gone through A LOT of different gluten free pasta brands and this is BY A LANDSLIDE the closest approximation to non-gluten free pasta in every sense of the food. It cooks well, it keeps well if you need to reheat it and tastes very similar to your garden variety pasta. there`s no pile of starchy goo to wash out, rigor mortis doesn`t set in if you keep a portion for a while in the fridge, it doesn`t taste like eating corn chips, if you forget to stir it within 3 seconds of placing it in boiling water it doesn`t congeal into one giant block of starch. it`s like i`m actually eating pasta again! finally….. sadly this stuff is hard to find locally so, Amazon to the rescue!
